Rainy Day Running….

Scenario: It’s raining, should I run or just skip today?

If you are faced with this issue, you need to really think about getting out there and just running, at least a mile. You ask, “In the rain, you are telling me to run in the rain?” Yes, that’s exactly what I am saying, if it’s not cold, get out there and get after it!  Check your local weather  at www.theweatherchannel.com to see what’s REALLY going on.  If the storm is too bad, then indoor cardio is your only option.

On the other hand, a light to moderate drizzle, a slight breeze, and it’s hot, grab a watch with a timer on it and RUN!  When you run in the rain you will get wet, duuh, but you will also get hydrated, you will be cooler than your last run, you will most likely be faster, and you WILL have fun!  I call it exhilarating exhaustion, when you’re done you will be tired but you will also be pumped. It’s a feeling that I can’t quite put into words.
I think Marty the Zebra in “Madagascar” said it best:

“You won’t love it till you try it!”

Have fun with it, take a friend with you and RUN!!!
